About Us
Michelle Witman is an established educational consultant with over 25 years of experience. With a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and master’s degree in Education in Curriculum & Development from Lesley University, Michelle went on to receive her training as a literacy coach & coordinator through the Literacy Collaborative at Lesley University. Michelle served the Three Village Central School District before leaving to become Columbia University’s premiere learning specialist. Michelle has since founded Sail Consulting and is based in the New York area.
Sail has worked with universities throughout the NY area including: Columbia University, Hofstra University, Mercy College, and New York University. Michelle collaborates with New York University’s Moses Center for Students with Disabilities, where she serves as their learning specialist. There she has helped develop and facilitate GRASP (Global Reach Academic Success Program), an on-line learning environment for students with disabilities who are studying throughout the world.
As an educational consultant, Michelle provides engaging professional development trainings, coaching and workshops to individuals, businesses, schools districts and local colleges in the NY metropolitan area. Michelle’s recent conference presentations have included AHEAD (Association on Higher Education & Disability), NAASPA (National Association of Student Personnel Administrators), & Lesley University’s Literacy For All Conference.
Michelle has continued her work as a professional developer & coach working with several school districts, including Port Jefferson, Central Islip and Connetquot, as well as private schools including the Roslyn Trinity Cooperative Day School, Port Jewish Center & Temple Beth El of Great Neck.
